This is Ted. Ted has been staying with us for a few days as he needed some love and care. And more stuffing! He’s very old and well travelled but after a morning’s repair work he can at least now can sit upright and looks like he’s had a decent meal. He also gives me the opportunity to talk about one of my passions…
A big part of my ethos with my OnTheGo products is about caring for the environment. Going hand-in-hand with that is community, caring for others and skill sharing. Skill sharing demonstrates valuing people for what they can offer without putting a price tag on it. Where I live its nothing formal but I have a number of friends where it works: for example the podiatrist friend who takes sewing skills as payment for looking after my little runner’s feet and legs. What makes me laugh is how often one of us thinks we’ve got the better side of the bargain: it is no big deal for me to sit in the sunshine with the radio on while sewing on badges but a friend ferrying one of my children to their activity is priceless.
There may be a battle ahead with this particular skill sharing opportunity, as it wasn’t actually agreed 😊 . And I’m not sure how that works with the community-thing, but the amount of time that Ted’s owner (swim-coach, family friend and general all round good egg), has spent answering training queries outside of normal session time I definitely jumped at the opportunity to say thank you. And I’m stubborn.
Obviously I could have put a picture of scout badges on as today’s illustration but I’m a little bit in love with Ted so couldn’t resist 😉
